Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your information when you use this site.
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fish, Ink (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website. We are committed to handling your data lawfully and transparently, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you send us.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
- Usage data: anonymous, aggregated analytics about how the site is used (see “Cookies & analytics” below).
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask about.
- To send you our newsletter, where you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand and improve how the website performs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose other than those stated here.
Lawful basis
We process your information on the basis of your consent (which you give by submitting a form or subscribing) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving our business. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers purely to operate the site, and only share what is necessary:
- Resend — to deliver contact-form and newsletter email.
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
These providers may process data outside South Africa; we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.
Cookies & analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, which measures site usage without cookies and without tracking you across other websites. We do not run advertising trackers. Because of this, the site does not require a cookie-consent banner.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to deal with your request and our ongoing relationship, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe. After that we delete or anonymise the information.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these, just contact us.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including serving the site over a secure (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at admin@fishink.co.za.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
